Jason Vasser-Elong, assistant teaching professor in the Pierre Laclede Honors College at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, is the author of Shrimp (2Leaf Press, 2018) a collection of poetry which analyzes identity in a post-colonial context. He is the 2022 poet-in-residence for Sapiens Magazine. Recently, Jason presented poetry for the Missouri Humanities Council’s MOmentum Gala, celebrating African American Foodways.
